Intelic BASE: European Drone Deployment Gets a Unified Hub

Direct Access for Defense Drone Procurement

Starting May 4, 2026, Amsterdam-based Intelic rolled out its new Intelic BASE platform. This initiative is designed to cut through bureaucratic delays and accelerate how European Ministries of Defense identify and deploy mission-ready unmanned systems. Think of it as a centralized procurement hub, directly connecting defense requirements with available drone technology, significantly reducing the typical timeline from identifying an operational need to getting systems active in the field. This move directly addresses the historically fragmented procurement processes that often bottleneck rapid deployment, an issue felt acutely in modern defense. The goal is to make the acquisition process as streamlined as possible, bringing much-needed efficiency to critical defense capabilities.

At its launch, Intelic BASE already connects manufacturers from ten key European nations: France, Germany, the UK, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Portugal, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, and Czechia. This broad base means governments gain immediate, transparent visibility into a significant portion of the continent’s defense industrial capacity. Instead of siloed searches and fragmented tenders, the platform offers a consolidated view of available systems, streamlining the initial discovery phase for critical drone technologies needed for diverse operational requirements across Europe. This direct access aims to eliminate guesswork and speed up the initial phases of procurement.

Industry Collaboration and Ukrainian Lessons Learned

This isn’t just a basic vendor list; Intelic BASE partners include serious players such as Acecore Technologies, Airvolute, Avy, Beyond Vision, DeltaQuad, Height Technologies, Highcat, and TAF Industries. These companies represent a wide array of mission profiles, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), precision strike capabilities, and vital counter-UAS systems. This collective effort ensures a comprehensive solution set for modern defense challenges, designed from the ground up to integrate and work together effectively. The platform acts as a connector, making it easier for defense planners to see what’s out there and how different systems can complement each other.

A critical component of this platform involves several unnamed Ukrainian partners. For security reasons, their identities remain undisclosed, but their collective impact is substantial: they produce over 100,000 UAVs per month and generate more than $1.5 billion in sales. This massive scale and battlefield-proven experience directly inspired Intelic BASE’s design, mirroring Ukraine’s effective, streamlined procurement models. These models demonstrate how to rapidly move from identifying an operational gap to deploying effective, battle-tested drone solutions, bypassing many of the traditional procurement bottlenecks.

Nexus: Interoperability as a Core Principle

One of the biggest wins here is the built-in interoperability, powered by Intelic’s Nexus. Nexus is a shared command-and-control (C2) software layer that allows unmanned systems from various manufacturers to operate seamlessly as a single, unified force within a mission. It’s not just theoretical; Nexus has been field-tested and operational in Ukraine since 2025, proving its capability to integrate disparate systems under demanding, real-world conditions. This upfront integration reduces the headaches and delays traditionally associated with getting different drone types to communicate and cooperate, which is crucial for modern coalition operations.

Traditionally, militaries spend significant time vetting vendors individually, often only to face complex integration hurdles later in the process. Intelic BASE flips that script by presenting systems already designed for joint operations. This direct-to-manufacturer approach also cuts out unnecessary intermediaries and reseller layers, simplifying the supply chain and significantly boosting procurement speed. The result is a far more agile and connected defense ecosystem, crucial for responding to evolving threats. Intelic’s Nexus software is also set to become a key control platform for the Netherlands Armed Forces’ UxV efforts later this year, further solidifying its role in future defense strategies.
